Letter to “Captain Somers.” In full: “Pleased as usual to hear from you–Am now about ready to leave for West Palm Beach and will agree with you that it will be a great year for base ball. Am sorry about not having a better ball club, have no Stars coming from the service–all we have here in the East is strikes–looks like the Steel plants and the General Motors will continue for a long time and it won’t help anyone. That is all we here [sic] around here is about the different organizations striking. Will be glad when the season opens will have something to think about.
